LUSoM students secure offers from Oxford & Cambridge University

We would like to congratulate Megan, Harris and Paige on receiving conditional offers to study at either the University of Oxford or Cambridge.

Megan has an offer to study Computer Science at Keble College (Ox), Harris has an offer to study Engineering at Hertford College (Ox) and Paige has an offer to study Mathematics at Churchill College (Cam)

The Head of School, Pete Tiltman, said “We are delighted that we have had success at securing places for courses at the top universities in our very first year. It is testament to their hard work and reflective of LUSoM’s mission to porvide a STEM education of the highest quality, which enables our students to progress to the most academically demanding university destinations in the country.

We are proud of all of our students, and it is exciting seeing the students receive their offers from top courses around the country. We also have students applying for competitive degree apprenticeship courses, and one who is looking to set up their own business in web design.”

The students who recieved the Oxbridge offers are bucking the national trend with girls getting places on Computer Science and Mathematics courses. Pete Tiltman added “we believe that all students should have the opportunity to enjoy mathematics and promote diversity in our student population”.

Francis Goodburn, Assistant Headteacher, said, “We are incredibly proud of Megan and Harris’ achievement in obtaining offers from the University of Oxford. It is testament to their hard work and reflective of LUSoM’s mission to provide a STEM education of the highest quality, which enables our students to progress to the most academically demanding university destinations in the country.”
